Quenching oil W 25
The quenching oil W 25 is a high-performance quenching oil that has been specially developed for batch quenching in open and closed hardening systems, such as our ASHS I hardening system (link to ASHS I content), gas carburizing pusher systems and vertical retort systems. The quenching oil W 25 is one of the most widely used quenching agents on the market.
Properties
The quenching oil W 25 is highly resistant to evaporation and thermo-chemically stable, so that even with the largest batch weights an economical utilization of the systems is guaranteed if the surface/weight ratio of the hardening material remains within acceptable limits. This is important because if quenching oils with too low a viscosity are used in batch hardening plants, disturbances in the furnace atmosphere must be expected. For example, excessive deflagration and flame phenomena during quenching, uneven hardening results, high oil consumption and impairment of the desired bright hardening.
In the interest of the lowest possible hardening distortion, the quenching oil W 25 allows an application range of 150°C in closed hardening systems. When determining the bath temperature, the batch weight and the specific surface area of the hardening material, among other things, are decisive and must be taken into account.
The quenching oil W 25 has also proven itself in the hardening of sensitive tools made of alloyed tool steels due to its hardening and stress-reducing cooling effect.
